Note: In case you don't have the book please solve the exercises on a piece of paper and hand it out to the teacher. Photocopies WON'T be accepted because of copyright.

A continuación encontrarán un documento que corresponde a un mock exam (examen de prueba) para estudiar y prepararse para el examen del primer corte. El mismo cuenta con todas las secciones reales del examen y todos los posibles temas que podrían aparecer en dicha evaluación (el día viernes también dejaré este archivo en físico en la papelería DJ para que lo fotocopien en caso de que les resulte más fácil).
También dejo los audios para que puedan resolver la sección de escucha (listening) del mock exam.

ASPECTOS A EVALUAR EN LAS ACTIVIDADES DE ESCRITURA (WRITING)

como les he informado durante cada uno de los cortes tendremos 2 actividades de escritura sugeridos por el libro de texto. A continuación, expongo resumidamente qué aspectos se tendrán en cuenta para evaluar y calificar sus escritos (además de que deben cumplir con el mínimo de palabras y los temas sobre los que se les pida escribir):

Style and register se refiere al uso adecuado de lenguaje formal o informal según el tipo de escrito asignado.

Punctuation se refiere al uso incorrecto de comas, apóstrofes, puntos, etc.

Coherence se refiere a la escritura lógica de ideas en un párrafo y el uso apropiado de conectores para darle sentido al escrito.

Collocations se refiere al uso adecuado del vocabulario o expresiones aprendidas en clase dentro de un escrito dado

Unity se refiere a que cada párrafo de un escrito tiene una idea principal y le siguen algunas ideas o evidencias de apoyo. De igual manera hay una introducción un desarrollo y una conclusión, dependiendo del tipo de texto.

Vocabulary se refiere al uso apropiado de palabras estudiadas en un contexto dado evitando el uso de traductores.

General se refiere a aspectos como el buen uso d la ortografía y el correcto orden de las palabras empleadas (por ejemplo: beautiful girl NOT girl beautiful 

Grammar se refiere a todos los errores en el uso de tiempos verbales, adverbios y demás estructuras gramaticales.

TEMAS PARA ESTUDIAR PARA CORTE 1

A continuación encontrarán los temas a evaluar en el examen de 1er corte, que se llevará a cabo la semana entrante; los mismos están separados por unidades.

UNIDAD 1

• Relationships' words (close friend, ex-girlfriend, co-worker, etc.)
• Collocations (good AT, belong TO, interested IN, etc.)
• Auxiliary verbs (have, did, WH- questions, does (not), etc.)
• Generalization words (on average, generally, etc.)
• Friendship expressions (keep in touch, get along, etc.)
• Simple present and present continuous
• Present perfect ( with for/since) and past simple

Para estudiar pueden hacer uso de las fotocopias trabajadas en clase, el libro y los ejercicios junto a explicaciones publicados aquí mismo. 

Recuerden que en DJ papelería quedará una fotocopia ("Mock exam") para que estudien con temas y tipos de ejercicios similares a los del examen.

Finalmente, tengan en cuenta que pueden desarrollar los ejercicios de la plataforma MyEnglishLab hasta máximo el día viernes 15 de marzo. No olviden que esta actividad les da hasta + 0.5 para el 80% de la nota.

1st CUT EXAM INFORMATION

Hello students,
Here you will find information about the 1st Cut Exams, it is in Spanish in order to avoid confusions and/or misunderstandings.

La primera clase de la semana se realizará el examen escrito, que cubre las partes (habilidades) escucha, gramática, vocabulario, lectura y escritura.

Específicamente se llevará a cabo en los siguientes horarios:
Grupo E041: Lunes 11 de Marzo, de 6:00 a 7:30 am.
Grupo B131: Martes 12 de Marzo, de 9:00 a 10:30 am.
Grupo E201: Miércoles 13 de Marzo, de 6:00 a 7:30 am.

Por otro lado, el examen de habla se desarrollará en la segunda clase de la semana.

Específicamente en los siguientes horarios:
Grupo E041: Martes 12 de Marzo, de 6:00 a 7:30 am.
Grupo B131: Miércoles 13 de Marzo, de 12:00 a 1:30 m.
Grupo E201: Viernes 15 de Marzo, de 6:00 a 7:30 am.

Recomendaciones para el examen:

-Llegar temprano con el fin de que tengan la mayor cantidad de tiempo posible (en mi caso procuraré llegar antes para organizar el salón y tener todo listo tan pronto como ustedes lleguen). Una vez el examen inicie no habrá repeticiones de instrucciones y/o grabaciones, es su responsabilidad llegar a tiempo. 

-Para el examen de habla, el docente hará preguntas y los estudiantes responderán de forma individual. Cada estudiante escogerá  al azar 3 números diferentes que corresponden a 3 preguntas que el docente hará de forma oral y el/la estudiante oirá y después contestará también de forma oral. Estas preguntas se relacionan con cada uno de los temas vistos en las unidades trabajadas en clase, unidad 1 "relationships" del libro. En cuanto al orden para tomar este examen, puede ser alfabético (uno de arriba y uno de abajo de la lista, para ser justos), por orden de llegada y/o voluntariamente; lo importante es que todos puedan y alcancen a tomar el examen el día estipulado.
(Se recomienda acelerar el proceso para tomar este examen puesto que ustedes son muchos y el tiempo bastante limitado)

-Recuerden estudiar con los ejercicios en línea publicados aquí en el blog y/o repasar con las explicaciones que también encontrarán aquí.

-Los audios (grabaciones) para el examen de escucha se repetirán un número máximo de 2 veces.

-No olviden las reglas básicas para cualquier examen: nada encima de la mesa excepto la cartuchera, no pedir ningún tipo de útil escolar durante el examen (antes pueden hacerlo, pedir prestado sacapuntas, lápiz, etc.), el bolso debe estar detrás de la silla y/o en el suelo, el celular en modo vibrador en el bolsillo y/o bolso, y no hablar de ninguna manera con cualquier compañero.

-No podrá abandonar el salón durante la aplicación del examen (ni para salir al baño, ni contestar llamadas, ni ningún otro motivo), sólo podra salir de la clase cuando haya acabado por completo de resolver el examen y una vez lo haya entregado al docente.

-El examen escrito se desarrollará de la siguiente manera: en primer lugar se (1) resuelve la parte de escucha y en este momento el docente pondrá las grabaciones, para continuar después de forma individual y autonoma con la (2) resolución de las secciones lectura, escritura, y gramática y vocabulario. 

P.D. En el trascurso de la semana estaré publicando los temas para el examen correspondientes a la unidad 1 junto un compilado de ejercicios para que puedan estudiar y un mock exam (examen de prueba).
